FRANCESCA BRUGNOLI: ITALIANS OF AUCKLAND

  • University of Auckland B201 10 Symonds Street Auckland, Auckland, 1010 New Zealand (map)

Italians of Auckland is an ongoing project by Francesca Brugnoli documenting who the Italians of Auckland are today: why they came, how they live, and the ways in which they express their Italian identity. It is a visual journey through stories of belonging, transformation, and everyday life, highlighting the richness and diversity of our community – from new arrivals to long-term residents, from those who maintain strong ties to Italy to those who now call both places home.

—Curated by Giulia Pianelli

The exhibition was presented in the University of Auckland’s B201 building foyer as part of the 25th edition of the Italian Language Week in the World—an annual, international event organised by the diplomatic-consular network, celebrating Italian culture, language, and creativity. The Italian Ambassador to New Zealand, Cristiano Maggipinto, and Consul Lindsey Jones were in attendance.
